Ranch Glam was the direction our sister-in-law gave us for this project and we were excited to lean in! This project took a basic, new construction living room to an elevated, custom, magazine worthy space. This is the room of the house that gets the most use, so we needed to maintain enough seating for the family as well as entertaining. They had recently purchased the world’s comfiest couch, so that was our base. This family prefers a more neutral palette, so we went with tonal variations and rich textures to add warmth and interest.

We knew we wanted shiplap and a fireplace transformation. We put our heads together and decided to use cement board around the existing fireplace tiles to make everything level. Plaster was used over everything to achieve a smooth, concrete texture. A trip to a local salvage yard yielded a beautiful piece of live edge for the mantle. They wanted cabinets on either side of the fireplace, but also wanted to keep it budget friendly. The solution was pre-made cabinets from Lowes. A coat of crisp white paint, custom tops and leather pulls, created a custom look. Most of the other pieces were sourced at Home Goods…we may have gone a little over board with pillows… Overall, this room was a labor of love from the homeowners and we loved bringing their vision to life. Let’s be real, it was our sis-in-law’s vision, not our brother’s. He did do most of the work though…Love you, bro!
